Ficinia nodosa is a perennial grass-like plant (rush) with a clumping habit and fine green foliage. It has a cosmopolitan distribution across the Southern Hemisphere. It is native to the southern states of Australia, southern Africa and New Zealand. It is not naturalised or invasive anywhere outside its native range. It is unknown how long it has been in trade in Australia. It is a fast growing plant that works well in difficult situations and is tolerant of a variety of conditions.
