Ctenanthe setosa ‘Grey Star’ (Grey Star, Never Never Plant, Prayer Plant)

Ctenanthe setosa ‘Grey Star’ is an evergreen perennial cultivar from the Marantaceae family. It’s parent, Ctenanthe setosa was assessed as low risk and is not know to have naturalised or become invasive anywhere globally. Both the parent and cultivar reproduce through vegetative spread. Seed set in both parent and cultivar is rare, reducing the invasive potential. Ctenanthe setosa ‘Grey star’ has been in cultivation for more than 5 years and has no reports of naturalisation or invasion globally. Although it can be grown in gardens ‘Grey Star’ is usually grown as an indoor plant. Grown for the stunning foliage, the leaves are a solid grey shade, with wine red undersides. Bright, indirect light and moist soil are best.
