Celtis africana (White Stinkwood)

Celtis africana (White Stinkwood) is a deciduous tree native to eastern Africa, from South Africa to Ethiopia. It has not naturalised or become invasive outside its native range. There is no evidence on how long it has been in trade outside of Africa. Fruit is a small berry that is spread by birds. Close relatives Celtis australis, C. occidentalis and C. sinensis are all considered serious environmental weeds in Australia.
