Callistemon pallidus (Lemon Bottlebrush)

(Melaleuca pallida, Metrosideros pallida)

Callistemon pallidus (Lemon Bottlebrush) is an evergreen open spreading shrub or tree to 5m with lemon yellow bottlebrush flowers from September to January. It is a common plant of wet, rocky sites in heathland along the eastern ranges (Qld, NSW, ACT, Tas and Vic). It has been in trade in Australia since 1940. Lemon Bottlebrush reproduces by seed and can resprout after fire from basal and epicormic shoots. There is no record of the species becoming naturalised outside its native range, or becoming invasive anywhere.
