Blandfordia grandiflora (Christmas Bells)

Blandfordia grandiflora (Christmas Bells) is a tufted perennial herb with narrow, linear leaves. It is popular for its red-orange and yellow flowers that appear in late spring to early summer. Christmas Bells is endemic to the east coast of Australia, between Sydney and Fraser Island, and as far inland as Glen Innes. It is a slow growing species that prefers wet coastal heaths. It can be grown in a pot in sandy soils in bright shady locations. There is no record of the species naturalising beyond its native range or becoming invasive anywhere.
