Anigozanthos manglesii (Red and Green Kangaroo Paw) is a perennial herb with dark green strappy leaved and bright red and green flowers. It is endemic to Western Australia, and has naturalised in Queensland. Plants grow best on sandy and gravelly soils. Mangles Kangaroo Paw is the floral emblem of Western Australia. It was first grown from seed in England in the 1800s by Robert Mangles. Reproduction is by seed.
