Agave ocahui (Ocahui Century Plant)

Agave ocahui is a compact evergreen succulent from Mexico. It forms a dense rosette 60x90cm of dark green leaves with red brown margins. It takes 10-20 years to mature and produce a single flower spike at the end of its life. Propagation is from small bulbils produced after flowering. It is hybridised with Agave attenuata to produce the cultivar ‘Blue Glow’. Time in trade in Australia is unknown, but it is not recorded as naturalised or invasive anywhere outside its native range.
