Xanthorrhoea johnsonii (Johnson's Grass Tree, Northern Forest Grasstree)

This species of grass tree is native to eastern Australia in QLD, and NSW where it grows in sclerophyll forest and heath in well-drained sites. While it is unknown how long it has been in the ornamental trade in Australia, it is not known to have become naturalised nor invasive anywhere in the world. While this iconic plant has a slow growth rate it can achieve a height of 0.1-5 meters and is adapted to survive fires.
