Wodyetia bifurcata (Foxtail Palm)

This palm is native to Queensland, where it is currently considered an endangered species. It is unknown how long it has been in the Australian plant trade, but it has not naturalised or became invasive anywhere outside its native range, neither in Australia nor overseas. It recently became a very popular ornamental overseas in the southern parts of Florida, California and Texas. It produces white blossoms, and a single palm can produce fertile seeds. They produce colourful clusters of red to orange-red fruit, each containing just one seed.
