Syzygium wilsonii (Powderpuff Lilly-Pilly, Plum Satinash)

(Eugenia wilsonii, Eugenia subopposita)

This shrub or small tree can grow from 2 to 6 m high and is endemic to Queensland. It is unknown how long it has been in the plant trade but it has not become naturalised outside its native range in Australia. It is not regarded as invasive anywhere in the world. It produces red new growth, attractive red flowers in spring and summer followed by clusters of small white fruits. Both flowers and fruit attract wildlife. The species reproduces via seeds.
