Epacris impressa (Common Heath, Pink Heath)

This small shrub, which grows to 120 cm tall, is native to south eastern Australia (NSW, VIC, SA, and TAS) where it predominantly grows in sclerophyll forest and woodland, in scrub and heath. Although it has been in the Australian ornamental plant trade since 1851 it has not become naturalised nor invasive anywhere. Flowering is from autumn through to spring it produces flowers which range from white, through various shades of pink to red. While the plants reproduce via seeds, the seeds take between two months to two years to germinate.
