This deciduous Australian tree grows to a height of 30m. It naturally grows in the rainforests of eastern Australia. This species is not known to have naturalised nor become invasive anywhere in the world. Brachychiton discolor is widely planted as an ornamental tree. It is culturally important to Indigenous Australians. Roasted seeds are edible to humans. This species drops its leaves in early summer and produces a beautiful display of deep pink, bell shaped, flowers.
