Anigozanthos flavidus (Tall Kangaroo Paw)

This perennial herb is native to Western Australia has become naturalised in NSW. It is invasive in South Africa where birds are attracted to the nectar of its flowers and aid in the pollination of the species. It has a high production of seeds and the species can spread by rhizomes as well. The kangaroo paws have a known ability to hybridise in their native range in Australia.
