Adenanthos sericeus (Woollybush, Albany Woollybush)

(Adenanthos sericeus var. brevifolius)

This large, evergreen shrub is native to the south coast of Western Australian. It has soft silvery-green leaves and an upright habit. It produces small red flowers throughout the year, and seed-bearing fruits. It is unknown how long it has been in the Australian plant trade. Woolly Bush has not become naturalised anywhere in Australia outside its native range, or around the world. It is a popular ornamental sold in Australian nurseries under the name of ‘Silver Streak’ due to its silver coloured foliage. The foliage can potentially cause an allergic reaction in humans.
