This native cultivar is a tree that can grow up to 7-12m. Its parent species Tristaniopsis laurina is native to QLD, NSW and VIC. It is unknown how long it has been in the plant trade for, but it has not become naturalised outside its native range. It is considered naturalised in New Zealand, but there are no records of invasive behaviour anywhere else in the world. The cultivar produces red new growth and yellow perfumed flowers from November to December. The cultivar has Plant Breeder Rights.
