Syzygium ‘Cascade’ (Cascade Lilly Pilly)

(Syzygium wilsonii subsp. wilsonii x Syzygium leuhmanii)

This native cultivar is a hybrid from Syzygium wilsonii x Syzygium luehmannii known as ‘Cascade’. It has similar foliage to the parent S. wilsonii but has large clusters of pink flowers (instead of red ones). It forms a dense, rounded shrub to about 2 – 3 meters high. The parents have both a low risk of invasion, not having become naturalised outside their native range, or registered as invasive anywhere in the world. The fruits are edible and attract wildlife which can spread the seeds.
