Sedum spectabile (Butterfly Stonecrop, Iceplant)

(Hylotelephium spectabile & Butterfly Stonecrop, Iceplant, Showy stonecrop)

This succulent perennial herb is native to Asia (China and Korea). It has been in the ornamental plant trade for less than 30 years. The species has not naturalised in Australia but has naturalised overseas, including in the USA. There is no evidence the species is invasive outside its native range. Reproduction is via both seed and vegetative means (rhizomes). The winged seeds are likely dispersed by wind.
