Osmanthus fragrans (Fragrant Tea Olive, Sweet Osmanthus)

( Notelaea posua, Olea acuminata )

This evergreen shrub is native to Japan and China. It has been in the ornamental trade in Australia since 1880 and has not become naturalised in that time. There is no evidence to suggest that the species has become naturalised or invasive anywhere in the world. There is a moderate level of climate similarity between its native range and some parts of NSW.
