Murraya koenigii (Curry Leaf Tree, Curry Plant)

(Bergera koenigii)

This perennial shrub or small tree is native to the Indian sub-continent, south-eastern Asia and southern China. The species has naturalised in Australia, including in QLD and the Northern Territory. In QLD, Curry Leaf Tree is considered an emerging environmental weed. However, there is no evidence to suggest this species is invasive in areas outside its native range. Reproduction is predominantly via seed. However, the plant may also spread locally via root suckers. The fleshy berry is dispersed by birds and other animals.
