Lysimachia congestiflora (Golden Globes Loosestrife)

(Lysimachia gymnocephala, Lysimachia hui)

This perennial herb is native to Asia including Nepal, China, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Taiwan. There is no evidence this species has naturalised outside its native range. Golden Globes Loosestrife can reproduce via both seed and vegetative means. The plant’s creeping stems root at the nodes upon contact with the soil. Based on information from a closely related species (Lysimachia arvensis), Golden Globes Loosestrife may be dispersed long distances via water and in mud attached to vehicles. This ground cover plant produces yellow flowers with a red eye.
