Leucanthemum lacustre (Portuguese Daisy)

This herbaceous perennial is native to Portugal. There is no data on how long it has been in the ornamental plant trade in Australia. The species has not become naturalised in Australia. However, it is reported to have become naturalised in parts of the USA. Regardless, there are no records from overseas to show that the species has become invasive anywhere. The species reproduces by seeds, which are dispersed by wind. As a member of Asteraceae, it is likely that the species produces large amounts of seed. Some parts of NSW have climate similar to the species’ native range. The plant produces white flowers.
