( Lagerstroemia subcostata var. fauriei)This exotic tree native to Japan is also known by its synonym Lagerstroemia subcostata var. fauriei. It is unknown how long it has been in the Australian plant trade, likely less than 30 years. It has not become naturalised or invasive in Australia, or anywhere in the world. Japanese Crape-Myrtle has copper coloured bark and produces flowers in summer. Fruits with seeds are not animal dispersed.
