Ixora coccinea (Jungle Geranium, Flame of the Woods)

This perennial shrub is native to India and Sri Lanka. The species may have naturalised in QLD, although it may also only be a persistent adventive here (and so not fully naturalised). Jungle Geranium is widely cultivated and has naturalised overseas, including in Puerto Rico and the United States (Florida). The species reproduces via both seed and vegetative means (root suckers and layering). Flowering occurs year-round when the plant is grown in full sun or light shade. The fleshy fruit is dispersed by birds.
