Iris chrysographes (Black Iris, Gold-vein Iris)
( Iris dykesii, Limniris chrysographes )Iris chrysographes is a perennial herb native to southern China and Myanmar. There is no data to show how long the species has been in the ornamental plant trade in Australia. It has not been reported as having naturalised in Australia, and one source mentions it as naturalised in the United Kingdom and Norway. Its close relative Iris pseudacorus is reported to be invasive in wetlands. Iris chrysographes spreads by rhizomes. All parts of the plant can be poisonous if ingested. There is a moderate degree of climate similarity between its native range and some parts of NSW.
