Dracaena marginata (Madagascar Dragon Tree)
A slow-growing hardy perennial tree that is native to Madagascar. The species has been in the ornamental trade in Australia since 1888 and has not naturalised. There is also no evidence the species has naturalised elsewhere outside its native range. Madagascar Dragon Tree is a popular indoor ornamental plant. The plant produces a fleshy berry that is likely dispersed by birds however, indoor plants rarely produce flowers or fruit. Madagascar Dragon Tree is noted as toxic to cats and dogs.
