Crassula arborescens (Chinese Jade)

This succulent shrub is native to South Africa’s Western and Eastern Cape regions. Chinese Jade has been in the ornamental trade in Australia since 1933 and has not naturalised. There is also no strong evidence that the species has naturalised elsewhere. Reproduction is both via seed and vegetative means. The small seeds are wind dispersed. Fragments which fall from the mother plant can take root and develop into new individuals.
