Convolvulus sabatius (Bindweed, Blue Bindweed)

(Concolvulus mauriticus, C. sabatius subsp. mauritanicus)

This twining perennial herb is native to Italy and northern Africa (Algeria, Morocco). Whilst Bindweed has not naturalised in south-eastern Australia, it has possibly naturalised in WA and NZ. There is no evidence to suggest this species is invasive outside its native range. A closely related species, Convolvulus arvensis, is a declared plant in South Australia and is also considered an environmental weed in QLD, VIC, TAS and WA.
