Coleonema album (White Diosma)

This perennial shrub is native to South Africa’s Western Cape region. The species is recorded as naturalised in WA, although it has been suggested this was misapplied to specimens of Coleonema pulchellum. There is no evidence this species is invasive outside its native range. Reproduction is via seed. Plants flower for a long period (May – November). The ripe seeds are ejected from the fruit capsule via a catapult mechanism.
