Clivia miniata (Kaffir Lily, Clivia)

This perennial herb is native to South Africa. There is no data about how long it has been in the ornamental plant trade in Australia, nonetheless, the species has not become naturalised. Although it is suggested to invasive in Chile, no evidence of ecological impact has been deduced. The species does not tolerate frost. It reproduces by seeds, which is said to be poisonous and are dispersed by Samango monkeys. There is a climate similarity between its native and introduced range, and parts of NSW.
