Naturalised in Australia

Choisya ternata (Mexican Orange)

This showy aromatic shrub is native to North America (south-western USA and Mexico). Whilst it has been recorded as naturalised in Australia, this is not easy to verify. The species has naturalised in New Zealand. There is no evidence Mexican Orange is invasive outside its native range. Reproduction is via both seed and suckers. The suckers are capable of moving far beyond the planted individual.
