Ceropegia woodii (Chain of Hearts)

(Ceropegia linearis subsp. woodii)

This perennial vine is native to southern Africa. There is no data to show how long the species has been in the ornamental plant trade in Australia. Further, there is no evidence that this species has naturalised, or become invasive, anywhere outside its native range. The species spreads vegetatively by rooting at nodes when in contact with the ground and by wind-dispersed seed. Climate match showed there are parts of NSW with similar climatic conditions to its native range.
