Trachelospermum jasminoides ‘Tricolour’ (Tri-color Star Jasmine, Variegated Star Jasmine)

‘Tricolour’ is a variegated form of the ground cover T. jasminoides with green, cream and pink leaves. The parent species has been in the Australian plant trade for more than 50 years and has not become naturalised, neither is recorded as invasive anywhere in the world. Like its parent plant, this cultivar appears to flower sparingly in cultivation which lessens the likelihood of seed set. The cultivar grows more slowly than the parent species and has a more mounding, rather than climbing, habit. These characteristics likely make the cultivar less invasive than the parent species, which is already low.
