Photinia x fraseri is a hybrid of two Photinia species from Asia (P. glabra and P. serratifolia) that grows 2-4m tall. P. x fraseri has been in cultivation since 1955 and is the parent of several other popular cultivars. Although widely planted across Europe there is no record of it naturalising or becoming invasive in any country. The parent species also have no record of being invasive elsewhere globally. It is grown for its bushy habit and showy flower heads. Photinia x fraseri is a large multi-stemmed shrub to small tree that can be hedged or trained to a single leader.
