Juniperus chinensis ‘Spartan’ (Green Spartan Juniper)

This exotic cultivar has dark green foliage and can reach 5m in height after 10 years. The parent species is native to China, Japan, Mongolia and the Himalayas. It has been in the Australian plant trade for more than 150 years and is doubtfully naturalised in ACT/NSW, being regarded as an environmental weed in Spain. It produces small, fleshy berries. ‘Spartan’ is a fast growing hardy cultivar with dense growth.
