Furcraea foetida ‘Mediopicta’ (Variegated Mauritius Hemp; Mauritius Hemp)

The Mediopicta cultivar is a large evergreen succulent perennial grown for its variegated foliage. The plant is monocarpic and dies after flowering. Compared to its parents, the flowers of this cultivar do not produce viable seed. However, vegetative spread can occur through the production of little plantlets on the flower stem after flowering that can be replanted. There is no documentation to indicate the cultivar is naturalised.
