Fraxinus angustifolia ‘Raywood’ (Claret Ash, Raywood)
(Fraxinus oxycarpa 'Raywood', Fraxinus angustifolia oxycarpa 'Raywoodii', Fraxinus angustifolia subsp. oxycarpa ‘Raywood’)This cultivar is a medium sized tree growing to 10–15 m high. This cultivar differs from its parent in that it is sterile and requires grafting onto rootstock for propagation. It is recommended as an alternative to Fraxinus angustifolia. Its name ‘Claret Ash’ comes from the deciduous nature of its leaves which change colour in autumn to a deep claret red.
