Acer palmatum ‘Atropurpureum’ (Purple Japanese Maple)

This exotic tree has bronze to purple foliage, leaves with 5-7 lobes become green during summer and then turn red in autumn. It is one of many cultivars from Acer palmatum, the parent species which is native to Korea, Japan and China, is naturalised in NSW and VIC and has a low risk of invasiveness.
