(Justicia brandegeana, Beloperone guttata)Justicia brandegeeana (Shrimp Plant) is a small perennial shrub native to Mexico. It is grown for the colourful reddish bracts that look like shrimp and surround the white flowers. Shrimp Plant has been in trade in Australia since 1924. It is recorded as naturalised in Queensland, and in Florida and Ecuador and other places. It is not recorded as invasive anywhere in the world. The shrub can spread by suckering roots. Seed production and dispersal is not well documented.
