Carallia brachiata (Freshwater Mangrove) is an evergreen tree with corky bark and glossy dark green leaves. It is a member of the Mangrove family. It is native to northern Australia (QLD, NT, WA) and south east Asia, and grows to 15m. Freshwater Mangrove is commonly found along freshwater streams. Cream flowers are followed by orange to black berries. It is not recorded as naturalised or invasive outside its native range. It is an important host for the native moth Dysphania numana.
