Ruellia humilis (Fringe-leaf Ruellia, Wild Petunia)

Ruellia humilis (Fringe-leaf Ruellia) is a perennial herb with small petunia-like mauve flowers. It is native to eastern and central USA. Time in trade in Australia is unknown, however there is no record of the plant naturalising outside its native range or becoming invasive. Plant is grown for its long flowering season. It reproduces by seed but seed viability is not reported to be high.
