Salvia nemorosa (Woodland Sage)

Salvia nemorosa (Woodland Sage) is a herbaceous perennial herb from central Europe and western Asia. It is the parent of many popular ornamental cultivars. It is grown for its upright flower spikes in shades of purple, pink and white. It is widely grown in Europe, west Asia and North America, and has naturalised beyond its native range. However, there is no evidence that it is invasive in a similar climate, or naturalised in Australia. Plants can reproduce via seed and readily hybridise with other Salvia species.
