Perovskia abrotanoides (Russian Sage, Borazambol, Perovskia Bush)

( Salvia abrotanioides, Perovskia artemisioides)

Perovksia abrotanioides is a deciduous, perennial sub-shrub native to parts of Central Asia and the Middle East. This species grows to a height of 1.2m and is distinguished by its bipinnate leaves with linear lobes. The flowers are violet-blue. It is not as upright as P. atriplicifolia. It is possibly naturalised in Belgium but is not recorded as invasive anywhere in the world. It is possibly a parent of Perovskia ‘Blue Spire’.
