Melaleuca quinquenervia (Broad-leaved Paperbark)

Melaleuca quinquenervia (Broad-leaved Paperbark) is an evergreen tree, native to NSW and Qld, from Sydney to Cape York, and Paua New Guinea, Irian Jaya and New Caledonia. It is a broad-domed tree with thick, white, papery bark. Cream bottlebrush flowers appear in most months, except late summer-early autumn. Trees are often found in swampy areas. Broad-leaved Paperbark is not considered invasive within Australia, but has been recorded as invasive in tropical regions around the world, including Florida. Trees produce copious viable seeds that can be transported long distances by water.
